it's Simplicity, but I wouldn't call it simple

In the month of July, one of my favorite sewing blogs, Presserfoot, took on the project of the Cynthia Rowley knit tank dress.  In my great over-ambitiousness, I had also taken on this project earlier in the spring after I found some pretty royal blue knit fabric on clearance at the fabric store and the pattern on sale for $1.  I had experienced moderate to great difficulty in finishing it up (over girls' weekend -- thanks for all of your help, Judy!), resulting in there only being one pocket on the poor dress instead of two :)  pocketFAIL.

All in all, I learned a lot from the trial and mishap, and the dress just needs a bit of finishing before being fit for wear.  I'm looking forward to following along with the last bit of the Presserfoot dress to try and figure out where I went wrong with the pocket/zipper combo.

Have any of you followed along with a sewing blog or sew-a-long?  Any good ones to share?

  1. So impressive! I should have paid attention when my grandmother tried to teach me how to sew as a child. Who knew I could be making Cynthia Rowley dresses at home!
