easter weekend

B and I spent a relaxing weekend with his family for Easter.  It was full of food, great conversation, amazing desserts, lovely drinks, good music, and lots of love.

My amazing MIL made SmittenKitchen's icebox cupcakes in festive Easter pastels.

Beautiful and delicious!  These cupcake/cookies are little homemade chocolate wafers stacked with fresh whipped cream in between.  After a day in the fridge, the cream softens the cookies and you have the perfect cookies and cream sandwich.  yum.

We enjoyed Easter dinner at a beautifully set table (and no, we really weren't at Martha's house).

It is a blessing to celebrate the saving grace that Christ freely gives with those we love :)

  2. Thanks for all your amazing help to make the weekend fun, sweet dil! And for the good idea to color the whipped cream for the cookies.
I really should have ironed that table cloth :)
