On Thursday night, Blake made an amazing glazed beer can chicken. If you've never roasted chicken impaled with a beer can, you're missing out. It is amazingly tender and flavorful -- and we (ok, Blake -- entirely) even did it vertically in our oven. He found the recipe for the glaze on Cooks Illustrated -- we had seen them make it on their PBS show a few weekends ago.

And I finished sewing this dress last week and ended up wearing it pretty much all weekend. It is a great pattern/diy that I found on a sew-along blog called presserfoot. The instructions were easy to follow and, with a little patience, yielded a super-cute, easy-to-wear dress. I'm hoping I can take it past summer into fall with some tights and boots, too.

....and a very Happy Fathers' Day to my own dad, whom I love so very much.
This is one of my favorite pictures from B's and my wedding day. My dad was cool and composed (although not entirely unemotional!) right before the big entrance. He helped me keep my composure and really be able to take it all in. What a special memory :)
